Farming Growth is specialist division of PKF Carr & Stanton, a successful business that has provided solid, dependable accounting and business advice to Hawke’s Bay businesses for the past 80 years. What sets us apart is that our service is purely focused on supporting rural businesses in the long term. We understand what makes a rural business different and know there is more to the rural sector than one good or bad year.

The team is lead by Campbell Brenton-Rule who is supported by Joanna Ladd. Together they work with a dedicated group of equally committed business advisers who have a focus on farming success – your success.

Campbell is a Director and owner of PKF Carr & Stanton, a successful business that has provided solid, dependable accounting and business advice to Hawke’s Bay businesses for the past 80 years.

He has a passion for all things land and with over 21 years experience has the skills and knowledge to help businesses grow and become successful.  He always had a vision of providing a specialist rural services division that catered for rural businesses and delivered exactly what they needed to help achieve their goals, whatever they might be.

He specialises in tax planning, structure setup, succession planning, asset protection and business coaching. His focus is always ensuring you receive great value for your investment.

Campbell is also a published author in the “Tax Guide to Farming, Forestry & Fishing”.

When he’s not working Campbell can be found with a pack on his back exploring New Zealand’s back country or diving off our vast coastline… and if the weather is good, his wife and two children don’t mind it either!

Joanna Ladd

Joanna Ladd

Joanna is a qualified Chartered Accountant with over 15 years experience in accounting businesses, helping clients with everything from tax to business development. She manages Campbell’s team and has developed valuable relationships with her rural clients and her amazing efficiency ensures they receive the highest level of service. She has an in-depth knowledge of accounting software and helps keep clients on track with their day-to-day operations.

Joanna has a special interest in tax mitigation strategies as well as educating clients how to understand their business financials, as she believes this is essential when looking at future opportunities. Joanna’s excellent people skills are evidenced by the huge amount of respect her team members and clients have for her.

When Joanna has free time she enjoys fishing, scuba diving, caring for her pets and socialising with family and friends.

Nicki Curran

Nicki was born in Hawke’s Bay and brought up on an orchard.  She spent many years working on the orchard and helping the family “on the land” during the school holidays.

She started her career in accounting over 20 years ago in a small firm with farming clients. This ignited her interest in the rural accounting area. After two years living and working in London on her OE and working in the corporate area, she returned to accounting in Hawke’s Bay before a change in 2000 saw her move into Financial Planning. She was a business owner in a Hawke’s Bay Financial Planning firm for eight years.

In 2012 she decided her passion was with accounting and joined the PKF Carr & Stanton Rural team.  She enjoys the variety and challenges that farm accounting offers and being able to provide services to clients to help them with their businesses. Nicki has a broad knowledge of accounting software packages, in particular Figured, Xero and cashmanager RURAL.

Nicki is married to Martyn and they have two school aged children.  She enjoys spending time with her family and friends and in the outdoors.

Angela Filipo

Angela joined the team in 2007 after graduating from Massey University with a Bachelor of Business Studies, majoring in Accounting and is a qualified Chartered Accountant. She now combines her interest in farm accounting with her taxation and business advisory skills.

Angela has a broad knowledge of accounting software packages, in particular Xero and cashmanager RURAL. Angela enjoys spending her free time with her husband and two children. She also enjoys socialising with friends and family and has completed the local Cape Challenge and Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge.



Michael Jackson

Michael is a director and owner of PKF Carr & Stanton, a member of CAANZ and a chartered member of the Institute of Directors providing assistance with corporate governance.

He has a special interest in the interface between farming / rural business and the corporate sector and advises a wide range of businesses from agriculture and horticulture to manufacturing and service firms.

Michael has been involved with a number of complex offshore transactions and played a key role in successful client outcomes. In his private life, Michael is a Trustee of the Hawke’s Bay Rescue Helicopter Trust and gives back to the community through his involvement in a number of other community organisations. He is married to Jo and has two daughters, with the family keen on most water sports and snow skiing.


Aaron Tyro

Aaron is an Associate of PKF Carr & Stanton and works with a number of rural business clients to assist them to grow their business and achieve their financial goals.

While he has an in depth knowledge of tax planning, management accounting and succession planning, his specialist focus is the Supermarket and Retail Industry.  He consults in various areas to assist with business development, strategies and succession.

Outside of the office Aaron enjoys spending time with his son’s and his amazing barbeque skills mean he is a hit at many social functions!
